Playa del Duque

A polished golden-sand beach backed by some of Costa Adeje's most upmarket resorts.

Playa del Duque is the flagship beach of Costa Adeje: imported golden sand, calm water, and a promenade lined with 5-star hotels, boutiques and higher-end restaurants.

It's consistently one of the more crowded beaches in the south in peak season, precisely because the calm water and full amenities make it such an easy, reliable choice for families and anyone who doesn't want surprises from their beach day.

  • Very sheltered swimming conditions — one of the safer beaches for young children in the south.
  • Sun loungers are largely operated by the neighbouring hotels; expect to pay if you're not a guest.
  • Gets busy by mid-morning in July and August — an early start helps.
