Playa de las Américas
The island's biggest concentration of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops, right on the seafront.
Playa de las Américas is Tenerife's most built-up resort town and its nightlife centre — a long strip of bars, British and Irish pubs, clubs and restaurants along and just back from the promenade.
It's less polished than neighbouring Costa Adeje but has more energy, more budget accommodation options, and a wide range of beaches including the popular Playa de Troya.
It works well as a base if nightlife and easy access to bars and restaurants matter more to your trip than a quiet resort atmosphere.
The resort is well served by TITSA buses running along the south coast, and it's an easy walk into neighbouring Costa Adeje if you want a calmer beach by day. Prices for food and drink vary hugely within a few streets — the main tourist strip charges a premium, while restaurants a couple of blocks back, popular with residents, are noticeably cheaper without sacrificing quality.

Practical tips
- ✓If you want nightlife nearby but a quieter room to sleep in, look for hotels a street or two back from the main strip rather than directly on it.
