La Gomera Day Trip from Tenerife
A 50-minute ferry ride takes you to one of the Canary Islands' quietest, greenest corners — a genuinely different island from Tenerife.
La Gomera sits just off Tenerife's southwest coast and is everything the bigger island's resorts aren't: quiet, rural, and dominated by Garajonay National Park, another UNESCO-listed laurel forest reserve similar in spirit to Tenerife's own Anaga, but larger and even less developed.
Fast ferries run regularly from Los Cristianos to San Sebastián de la Gomera, the island's small capital, making it entirely possible to visit for a single day — though many visitors who do a day trip end up wishing they'd stayed longer.
