Golf in Tenerife
Year-round playable weather and a handful of well-regarded courses have made Tenerife a genuine golf destination, not just a beach one.
With reliable weather most of the year, Tenerife has developed a small but respected cluster of golf courses, mostly concentrated in the south and southwest, some designed by well-known course architects and built into genuinely dramatic volcanic terrain.
Courses here tend to make a feature of the island's landscape rather than fighting it — expect ocean views, elevation changes and volcanic rock outcrops built into the design, which makes for a different experience from a flatter mainland course even at a similar handicap level. Green fees are generally comparable to or slightly below equivalent mainland European resort courses.
